Design Notes

ChiA1 has previously been expressed in E. coli [Cottaz and Samain (2005)]. Cleavage sited were fit to accommodate the BioBrick system.

The sequence sent in, possesses a mutation in position 201, turning the original alanine into a tyrosine. The shown sequence, however, does not have this mutation.

Source

The sequence for ChiA1 was taken from Watanabe et al. (1990). It is an optimized sequence of the organism B. circulans WL-12, and was synthesized by IDT.
